If you are looking to hold a volunteering event in your College, here are some top tips!
Work collaboratively with your RAG Officer; in some instances Colleges have a RAG & Volunteering officer because volunteering opportunities are organically developed through fundraising activities.
Work with your college’s charity partner and try and piggyback on any opportunities for volunteering that they may have available.
Keep it simple; do you need volunteers for Welcome Week, sports or a larger event? Look at opportunities closer to home and where volunteers may be required
Sell the benefits of volunteering; how it would look on CVs and for your future job prospects.
York SU Volunteering Projects are long-term, entirely student-led projects that run with support from the Union Development Officer and Student Citizenship and Employability Development Coordinator. We have over 20 volunteering projects currently that provide a diverse range of opportunities.
